Identity: A Core Component to Zero Trust
Digital identity remains an underlying concern in cyberspace. In fact, it is one of the most substantial elements of Zero Trust architectures - which entails all users (inside or outside the organization) being authenticated, authorized, and continuously validated. Identity - from employees, to remote workers, to third-party vendors, to devices or apps - can create a direct path toward an organization's crown jewels.

Be it open access to cloud environments or excessive permissions, "identity" can spell doom for today's organizations. With identity-driven breaches on the rise and a widening attack surface, security teams must embrace Zero Trust and its principles, including least privilege, and maintain sturdy IAM controls, which may involve MFA or password-less technologies. These measures are all part of the Zero Trust umbrella.

Join ISMG's Tom Field for a moderated discussion - co-sponsored by Carahsoft - that will draw from the experience of the attendees, offering insights on various identity concerns, today's widening attack surface, and the criticality of Zero Trust principles.

Discussion topics will include:

  • How has "identity" become one of the largest cybersecurity concerns, and how easily can lax IAM controls lead to dangerous attacks?
  • How can strategies such as MFA and PAM help manage identity concerns?
  • Identity as a whole is considered a driving component of Zero Trust. How would you explain its importance?
  • On Zero Trust "journeys," how far along is your organization?
  • What investments does your organization plan to make in 2022 to bolster IAM controls, and/or achieve some level of "Zero Trust" status?

Joining Tom to provide expert insight and case studies is Kevin Orr, President of RSA Federal for RSA.
