Being Ready for the Threats of Tomorrow

12:00pm – 2:30pm AEST | Melbourne, Australia

Event Overview

The attackers and defenders in our cybersecurity world are locked in an ongoing battle. Whenever a new technology is developed, threat actors look for ways to leverage it and blue teams seek to use the new capability responsibly. The new battlefield is generative AI.

While useful AI seemed years away, all that changed last year with the public release of ChatGPT. Built on the foundation of GPT-3, and recently enhanced to use GPT-4, ChatGPT’s natural language processing capability enabled almost everyone to write, or have written for them, content that seemed to be created by an expert.

Today, criminals can rent access to WormGPT – a tool that can make unskilled hacker into a dangerous adversary. And it’s likely just the first salvo being fired in a new cybersecurity arms race.

Join us as Adam Rice, a very experienced CISO and cyber security advisor for Cisco, discuss the emerging threats facing cybersecurity professionals and generative AI.

DISCUSSION POINTS

  • The shortening window between vulnerabilities being reported and criminals exploiting them
  • What we do and don’t know about the threats we are facing
  • What is WormGPT and why does it matter
  • What are some defensive strategies you can look to boost your resilience to AI-powered attacks
  • Actionable insights that you can take back your workplace
