Gen AI in Financial Services: Protecting Users and Data in the Age of Shadow AI
5:30 - 8:00pm ET | New York, NY
Event Overview
Generative AI is reshaping the financial services sector – unlocking efficiencies, automating complex processes, and enabling faster analysis of vast datasets. But as adoption accelerates, so do the risks. In many organizations, AI use is increasingly decentralized, with employees turning to unsanctioned tools that fall outside of enterprise governance. Recent findings show that while 90% of organizations now use Generative AI, 72% of that activity is driven by Shadow IT.
Over the past year alone, the volume of data sent to Generative AI applications has surged more than 30-fold – raising serious concerns around the exposure of regulated data, proprietary models, and user trust. For financial institutions, safeguarding trust and compliance requires a foundational shift: securing AI starts with preparing the data. That means classifying and governing sensitive information, gaining real-time visibility into AI usage, and embedding policy enforcement across every layer of the digital ecosystem.
How are institutions managing AI usage across hybrid environments? What boundaries are they placing around sensitive data? And most critically—how are security leaders protecting users from unintentionally putting the organization at risk?
Join this exclusive roundtable of cybersecurity and cloud leaders from across the financial sector to explore:
-
Effective Governance Models: Explore strategies for sanctioning Generative AI usage while maintaining visibility and control over unsanctioned tools and Shadow AI behavior.
-
Data Security Readiness: How best to prepare data environments – through classification, access controls, and policy enforcement – to safely support AI initiatives in a highly regulated sector.
-
Mitigating Shadow AI Risk: Gain insights into practical controls such as DLP, SASE, and identityaware access that help detect and reduce the risk of ungoverned AI activity.
Security’s Strategic Role: Understand how security teams are taking the lead in cross-functional AI governance – balancing innovation with protection, and embedding security into the foundation of enterprise AI adoption.
