Freeing Public Security and Networking Talent to Do More With Automation

3:00 - 4:30pm AEST | Virtual

Event Overview

Any form of technological evolution leads to disruption in how we live, work and play. Some consequences can be predicted before the implementation of a new technology, while there may be unintended consequences, as well. In every major shift that technology brings, there have been job losses and wage changes as old skills lose relevance and new ones gain value. The growth in automation and artificial intelligence, AI, can unlock new efficiencies and drive productivity. But the change will not be without some challenges.

Governments around the world are grappling with this. From the United Nations’ 17 sustainable development goals to Australia’s 8 artificial intelligence ethics principles, the public sector is making attempts to manage these transitions.

But AI can do so much more than simply automate repetitive tasks. Australia has an opportunity to become a world leader in security and networking talent by using AI-driven automation to enhance decision-making skills at scale – while ensuring these emerging technologies are guided by ethical principles.

Join Verizon’s Head of Cybersecurity for ANZ Luke Kiefte and ISMG’s host Anthony Caruana along with C-suite for a peer-to-peer discussion on identifying challenges and opportunities that automation brings to the public sector.

DISCUSSION POINTS

  • Is automation seen as a threat or opportunity?
  • What can be done to help people transition to a world where AI is part of the cybersecurity toolkit?
  • How can AI and automation help with Australia’s goal to become the world’s most cybersecure nation by 2030?
  • How can the public sector take advantage of AI and automation?
  • What are the biggest obstacles to using AI and automation?
