Managing Machine Identities across IT and OT before the 47-Day Certificate Deadline
11:00 - 12:30pm CET | EMEA
Event Overview
As manufacturers prepare for the shift to 200-day TLS certificate lifespans and the industry-wide adoption of 47-day renewal cycles, IT and OT leaders must be ready for the increase in certificate workload across IT, OT and IIoT environments. For those relying on manual or semi-manual processes, this can leave businesses exposed to security threats, service disruption and regulatory
non-compliance.
With machine identities proliferating across PLCs, SCADA systems, robotics, autonomous systems, connected sensors, and cloud-integrated industrial applications, unmanaged or expired certificates can trigger production outages, supply-chain disruption, safety risks, and new attack vectors. At the same time, the EU Cyber Resilience Act and NIS2 are elevating machine-identity governance to a board-level accountability issue.
This virtual roundtable will explore how manufacturing organisations can implement automation within OT systems, unify visibility across fragmented, legacy-rich environments, and adapt operationally to the high-frequency renewal cycles and infrastructure strain introduced by the 47- day certificate deadline.
Key discussion areas include:
-
The impact of shorter certificate lifespans across IT, OT and Engineering teams.
-
Ways to automate renewals without disrupting production or violating vendor support agreements
-
How to achieve unified visibility, ownership, and governance across machine identities.
-
Techniques to build crypto-agility and OT-safe automation into your systems to prepare for
regulatory changes. -
Readiness benchmarking: common pitfalls, success patterns, and priority actions for the next 6–12 months.
